TDOT Region 3 Communications Officer Erin Zeigler discusses the big North Thompson Lane Improvement Project on the Insider!
TDOT in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration will construct widening improvements to approximately 4.3 miles of North Thompson Lane (State Route 268) from Northwest Broad Street to Memorial Boulevard. The project will include widening to four travel lanes with a center turn lane, and curb and gutter, sidewalks provided on both sides of North Thompson Lane, and traffic signals will be interconnected into the existing fiber optic network to provide for a future coordinated arterial signal system.
An informational meeting on the project will be held on July 27 from 5-7pm at Erma Siegel Elementary, 135 W. Thompson Lane, in the school's cafeteria.

Cannonsburgh Village Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary in June! Cannonsburgh Village recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of preserving Murfreesboro’s rich history. Established in 1976 to honor the United States Bicentennial, Cannonsburgh is a living history village that highlights life in the 1800s through the 1940s. Visitors can explore a variety of historic attractions, including a working gristmill with a waterwheel, a restored steam engine and caboose, a doctor’s office, general store, blacksmith shop, and a charming chapel available for weddings. Facility Coordinator Mary Beth Nevills discusses the origins of Cannonsburgh, highlights from the recent anniversary celebration, and the reopening of the Haynes Museum.
